National Commercial & Industrial Standards Manual

This standards manual is the definitive working tool for every professional involved in commercial and industrial insulation. Because of the wide acceptance of this manual throughout the United States and other countries, the insulation specifications and applications in this book have become established industry standards.

The sixth edition of the manual has been revised and expanded. The insulation materials and properties section has been updated to include the changes and improvements that have been made to the insulation materials by the manufacturers. The materials tables have been expanded to include ASTM numbers. Several of the plates have been redesigned to reflect the new materials available to the industry and the changes in insulation application procedures that have occurred since the previous edition. New plates have been added where appropriate to reflect new application procedures. The insulation specification section has been revised to reflect the new numbering system and contains a sample specification developed by the Architectural Computer Services, Inc. (ARCOM). The firestopping section has been expanded to provide a greater overview of the insulation industry and current specification requirements.
