GIIP Evolves into NIA Foundation for Education, Training and Industry Advancement
Decision made to roll all GIIP activities under the umbrella of an education
and training foundation. All GIIP supporters now become Foundation Contributors.
NITP Program
Significant changes and refinements made to the NITP training program in preparation
for a second mock class scheduled for January.
Comprehensive NITP/IEAP Marketing Plan Developed
Comprehensive marketing plan and budget developed. Plan incorporated methods to roll the training programs out beyond NIA membership. Includes target groups, advertising, direct mail, personal presentations, etc. Plan delivered to Foundation
Steering Committee and NITP Task Force.
NIA-404 Changes name to Certified Faced Insulation Standard

Tax Credit Legislation Presentation
Developed presentation for K. Leonard to update NIA members
at Committee Days on the status of her work in the area of industrial
tax credits. K. Leonard delivered successful presentation at Committee Days.
NITP Mock Class
Held first mock class of the NITP Program in Reston, Virginia. All four independent instructors were present. Inside and outside industry members where present to
evaluate and provide critical comments to the program.
Marketing Outreach Committee Decision
The NIA M/O committee met and decided that the Power of Insulation presentation should be revamped and offered for free to all GIIP Supporters.

Training class held in Baltimore, Maryland

Industrial Energy Appraiser Ad Listing
Created ad that lists all NIA Certified Insulation Energy
Appraisers. To appear in Insulation Outlook once year-end
article is complete.
NITP Training Program
Finalized all work on modules. Created all handouts.
Solicited all insulation samples from NIA Associates.
All preparation work associated for the roll out of the
first mock class.
Laminator 2001/2002 Promotion Plan
Worked with marketing task force of the Laminator
Committee. Developed new plan (based on the results
of the survey) and presented to the Laminator's at their
annual meeting.

Insulation Energy Appraisal Training
Held class in Philadelphia, PA
Created Presentation for Steam Best Practices
Created presentation for B. Pitkin to present at the
Steam Best Practices workshop in Cleveland, OH.
Created new GIIP Supporter Ad
New ad created for the NIA Membership Directory.
August 2001
New Appraiser Marketing Kit
Created "How to Market Your Appraiser Skills" kit for all
certified insulation energy appraisers. Incorporated into
all future training classes.
NITP Program Development
Completed Draft #2 of the training program. Decision made
to make it a 2-day program. Materials evaluated by
Independent instructors.
NITP Marketing Brochure
Completed first draft of marketing brochure.

Insulation Energy Appraisal Training
Full training class held in Chicago, IL
Laminator/Top 100 Builder Survey Sent
Developed a marketing survey asking for Top 100 Metal Builder
responses to a questionnaire that will help direct the committee's future
marketing and promotion efforts. 37% response back received.
NITP Training Program
Created "Instructor Modules" to the training program
Created New NIA Website Ad
Created new full page, color ad discussing the benefits of NIA's
website as a valuable information resource for both membership and outside audiences.
Laminator Direct Mail to Metal Building Architects
Worked with MBMA in soliciting mailing lists of metal building architects
In leading metal building construction states. Started with Texas and Ohio.
Mailed a letter, short form insulation specification and a copy of the NIA
404 brochure.
NIA 404 Laminator Ad
Updated NIA Ad listing all NIA-404 Certified Laminators appeared in
the July issue of Metal Construction News.
June 2001
Insulation Energy Appraisal Training Class
Held 'sold out' class in Baltimore, MD
Presentation on all GIIP/NITP Activities to the MICA
R. King presented an update on GIIP and training concept
behind NITP to MICA. MICA's National Commercial &
Industrial Insulation Standards Manual will be the basis
for much of the training program.
NIA 404- Laminator Ad
Full page ad listing all NIA Certified Laminators appeared in
the May issue of Metal Construction News.
