NIA's 61st Annual Convention and WIACO

April 20–23, 2016

Boca Raton Resort and Club

Boca Raton, Florida

About NIA's 61st Annual Convention and WIACO

The National Insulation Association (NIA) invites you to join your industry colleagues from around the world April 20–23, 2016, in the beautiful city of Boca Raton on Florida's Atlantic coast. During this year's Annual Convention, NIA is excited to host WIACO and welcome members of the European Federation of Associations of Insulation Contractors (FESI) to our event.

NIA's 61st Annual Convention and WIACO will include the networking, educational, and entertainment events that you look forward to—incorporating the casual and festive influences of Coastal Florida. Back for 2016 is the biennial Silent Auction, an evening of friendly bidding and fundraising for all Convention attendees.

The Convention theme, Thermal Insulation: Making a Global Difference, will demonstrate that through education and the collective participation of individuals, member companies, and industry associations, we can make a difference in our industry worldwide. NIA looks forward to welcoming attendees from all segments of the mechanical insulation industry to Boca Raton!

What to Expect

At NIA's Annual Convention, expect to learn the latest industry trends, share with colleagues, and take home valuable industry knowledge. In a survey of the 2015 Convention attendees, 95% said networking with new customers met or exceeded expectations, and 73% gained new industry knowledge.

About WIACO

In 2016, NIA is hosting WIACO as part of our 61st Annual Convention. This global event is held every 4 years and alternates between Europe and the United States. The European Federation of Associations of Insulation Contractors (FESI) represents insulation associations from 16 European countries whose members are active in the field of technical insulation for the industrial and commercial building sector, ship insulation, soundproofing, and fire protection. We look forward to welcoming you to Boca Raton, Florida, USA!

Who Should Attend

Convention attendees represent all segments of the mechanical insulation industry: merit and union contractors, distributors, fabricators, laminators, and manufacturers. This broad representation of the industry allows attendees opportunities to gain new business contacts, network, and build relationships. Spouses, guests, and children are welcome to attend. As 1991–1992 NIA President Duane Luse said at NIA's 60th Convention in San Antonio, "There isn't any school you can go to… to learn to be an insulation contractor or distributor. You learn it from your peers." NIA's Convention provides this opportunity at a national level—and by welcoming WIACO in 2016, at an international level as well.

What You Will Learn

NIA is planning more than 25 hours of educational programming for our 61st Annual Convention. We have secured top speakers from the industry, including CEOs and Presidents from NIA member manufacturing companies, who will share their expertise and insight on the opportunities and challenges of the global industry, as well as what the forecast looks like for the industry as a whole in the next 5 years, and beyond. On the lighter side, Keynote Speaker Scott Christopher will prove how adding a little humor and levity to the workplace can help advance your career, increase employee satisfaction, and drive real business results. In addition, Convention attendees will hear an update on the 2016 elections and which statewide races could have national implications. Attendees will also gain insight from 4 technical presentations selected by NIA's Technical Information Committee (TIC) and our European partners to enhance greater domestic and global technical expertise. NIA members will also convene to vote upon matters related to the business and association leadership, and recognize the winners of the 2015 Theodore H. Brodie Distinguished Safety Award.
