Convention 2005

Weather, Attire, and Convention Tips

Weather

Las Vegas sits in the Mojave Desert of southern Nevada, between the Spring Mountains to the west and Lake Mead to the east, where the Colorado River backs up to Hoover Dam. Its location provides fascinating terrain and a dynamic climate that has attracted visitors and dizzying population growth for years. March is a wonderful time to visit Las Vegas, with average monthly March temperatures reaching a high of 69° F, low of 47° F and an average of 58° F.

Suggested Attire

Las Vegas is filled with a variety of exciting activities to fill your day. In packing for this trip your attire should be versatile to accommodate the plethora of activities available to you during your stay. The majority of all daytime convention sessions will be casual. Golf shirts and resort attire is recommended. The First Night Welcome Reception is dressier, but ties are not required. At the Associates Reception/Evening Reception, participants attending the Special Evening Event are suggested to wear informal evening attire. It is important to note that desert nights can be cool in late March. We recommend bringing a sweater or lightweight jacket for outdoor evening events. The only formal event is the President's Gala, which is black-tie optional.
