Hotel Information

The Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa

Cradled amongst the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, north of Tucson in the lush Sonora Desert, is the oasis called the Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa. This extraordinary environment was inspired by the surrounding nature, which ranges from the giant saguaro cactus and wild flowers to song birds, and 10,000 foot mountain peaks, and influenced by aspects of the Native American culture, the colorful heritage of the American West, and Spanish roots. With such a unique atmosphere, it’s no surprise that this Westin was on the 2002 Conde Nast Traveler Gold list.

The combination of atmosphere and southwestern charm creates a balance of relaxed elegance and quiet efficiency that is reflected in the hotel achievements. The hotel has received both the Mobil Travel Guide Four Star Award and the AAA Four Diamond Award every year since it opened in 1986. The Westin La Paloma has been selected as the number one Westin for guest satisfaction by Westin guests five times in the last 14 years.

These accolades are a reflection of the impeccable service, as well as the diversity of the facilities of the Westin La Paloma. The resort possesses fantastic restaurants and bars including Sabino’s, a swim-up pool bar and grill, J Bar, which opens for dinner only and features Mexican, Latin American, and Caribbean specialties, and Desert Garden Bistro, which is the main restaurant and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. To help balance the spectacular cuisine, there is also a health center with weight room, cardio room, aerobics, fitness and Pilates classes. The property also has three pools, one of which is reserved for adults only, but you might want to venture over to the pool with the 177-foot waterslide—Tucson’s longest resort waterslide. The resort also contains a sand volleyball court and an indoor racquetball court.

The resort features a 27-hole highly recommended Jack Nicklaus Signature championship golf course and four hard and six Hard-Tru tennis courts, of which eight are lighted for night play.

Need a little pampering? Just head for the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa, where options include Vichy Showers and a variety of body treatments, as well as manicures and pedicures. Members and guests who would like to enjoy any of these special services are encouraged to make their appointments prior to arrival by contacting them directly at 520-742-7866. There are also seven retail shops on the premises, so there’s practically no reason to leave the resort.

And why leave? Each of the guest rooms is newly renovated and has Westin’s signature Heavenly Bed® and Heavenly Bath®.
