NIA Announces New Executive Committee and Board of Directors Members
The National Insulation Association
(NIA) is pleased to announce its new
officers for 20122013, led by NIAs new
President, Rick Smith. The new leaders
and representatives assumed their
responsibilities following a unanimous
vote by the NIA membership at the
organizations business session, which
took place on April 17, 2012, at the
NIAs 57th Annual Convention in
Scottsdale, Arizona.
NIAs new President,
Rick Smith, is the CEO of E.J.
Bartells, a company that specializes in
the distribution, installation, and
fabrication/ manufacturing of insulation
products, as well as several key OEM
manufacturing industries across the
United States. Mr. Smith joined E.J.
Bartells in 1984, as a member of the
sales force, and has risen through the
ranks of the company for the past 28
years. Prior to becoming the CEO, Mr.
Smith served as a Branch Manager, Sales
Manager and President/General Manager.
A graduate of the University of Northern
Colorado, Mr. Smith specializes in
relationship building, leadership,
financial analyses, and the
understanding of the key components of
the insulation business.
The theme for Mr. Smiths year as NIA
President is Mechanical Insulation:
Environmentally Sound. His term will
culminate in NIAs 58th Annual
Convention at the Hyatt Regency Coconut
Point in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Stepping into the position of
President-Elect is Roger B. Crawford,
President of Low Country Insulation,
Inc., Secretary/Treasurer for NIA this
year is David Dzina, President/Owner of
Selle Insulation Co., while J. Kenneth
Freeman, President of Petrin Corp.,
becomes Assistant Treasurer. Also
serving on the 201213 Executive
Committee and Board of Directors is
Immediate Past President Alec Rexroat,
Vice President of M&O Insulation
Company. The 201213 Executive Committee
also includes Past President Advisors,
Wayne W. Killion, Jr., Shook and
Fletcher Insulation Company, and Ronald
Ron L. King.
New to the Board are At-Large
Representative Matt Caldwell, Caldwell
Insulation, Inc.; and Regional
Representative David Gottlich, Basic
Industries of South Texas, Ltd.,
representing the Southwest Insulation
Contractors Association (SWICA).
Other At-Large Representatives
